I am a Borzoi

A borzoi's original intent when being created by humans was to hunt mainly wolves. Yet they make a great companion for the family and are considered gentle and noble. I relate to them a lot. I wasn't educated to kill, but there are some strong ideals that were reinforced since I was a pup. Even if from a perspective they do not advocate to violence explicitly, they have made people's life miserable by imposing the living modern hell we are experiencing.

These glints of my past have come to bite me once more. Sparks of violent ideas that I thought I had dominated out of my mind. They have been part of my "nature" for so long. Yet every time I feel like I've overcome them, there's always a massive setback. The side that scares me has nothing but pure bigotry, wanting to maintain the status quo of a [REDACTED]-society that rewards no one but the "most-capable". The one that uses terrible rhetoric passing it as keeping the "good traditions". Even when a great part of my education comes from Roman Catholicism, the one that tells you that everyone is equal, be kind, and give to the one that's in need; these promises feel unfulfilled.

I live in a privileged position where I don't have to work as much as any of my peers do, and will relatively always fall on my paws. And if I don't challenge myself to change this condition I will get stuck in the same patterns that I live every single day of my life.

I want to create a better world, one where everyone has the same opportunities I have.

I am scared. Scared of what I could be if I don't take the helm of my ship. Scared of the incertitude that taking a big step could lead me to my demise. Yet I still want to do it. I want to change and benefit the ones around me, my loved ones, and myself.

Conformism is killing me and I do not want to be a bystander in my own life, again.
