Voidzoi Linux
4days ago I made the change from Debian12 to Void-Linux. Now I get why some people say it's better for servers.
Void feels super fast and up to date with all the packages. xbps installs
packages so fast that I got scared that it failed to install the first time I used it.
It's really nice having the latest in software. Being finally able to use Emacs 30, where they fixed some limiting behaviour (mostly in shell via dired) and some other shenanigans. Speed overall is real quick (maybe because I haven't installed much, but still).
Haven't got too familiarised with runit but so far it has made me understand a bit more of
what an init service works.
I do miss debian a bit, it's so well made that most stuff is just plug-n-play. At least from my experience. Plus there was always a package for anything.
Anyways, 2026 year of the mingus https://bsky.app/profile/viifox.bsky.social/post/3lwuewzjjv22b
